I am a writer, librarian, and reader. My life is literally books. I believe words–written or spoken–are the most powerful tools in the world. I have a Bachelor’s degree in English Writing and a Master’s in Library Science and Information Studies.
I will pretty much read anything fantasy or sci-fi. I’m not a huge fan of dystopian, so if you’d like me to read something dystopian tell me something that will make me love it. I love books with strong female characters, action, and adventure. I like to find meaning in everything I read, and discuss society, ethics, and psychology in books.
I snuck out of bed as a kid to read by the glow of my nightlight. Not much has changed in 20 years, except I’ve learned to keep the light on and my late nights now consist of reading and writing.
Books take up an absurd portion of my little Midwestern duplex—most of them fantasy. Anne McCaffrey opened my eyes to dragons in grade school, and I’ve never looked back. I have a soft spot for strong, complex characters, adventurous intrigue, and epic doorstoppers.
My short fiction has appeared in Soundings Review and the e-anthology OVERCOMING ADVERSITY. In my day job, I write trade articles and have assisted with several nonfiction launches.
